AND TIPS

Mowing

Most lawn problems are caused by poor mowing. If it’s too short or not cut properly (e.g., mower blades
are not sharp enough), your lawn is vulnerable to insects and weeds. Here are some tips to follow:

  • Mow to a height of 3 inches and 3.5 inches in hot, dry weather.
  • Mow no more than 1/3 of the length at a time
  • Sharpen mower blades to cut, not tear, the blades.
  • Shredding the lawn and leaving it on the ground provides water and nutrients to the grass.
  • Mow regularly. 1 time a week or every two weeks
  • Avoid shaving edges with the trimmer. Respect mowing height

Watering

We provide the food and you provide the water. Your lawn needs water to circulate nutrients and minerals
from the soil. Here are some tips to follow:

  • Water 1-2 times a week to provide about 2-3 cm of water.
  • Watering in the morning or evening allows water to penetrate the soil before evaporating in the sun.
  • Excessive watering can make the soil soft and encourage the appearance of diseases and fungi. A grain
    of good judgment is required.
  • To avoid salted almonds, you must respect your city’s watering regulations (often no watering in
heatwaves, so let your lawn grow).

Seeding

It’s a well-known fact that nature is afraid of a vacuum… Weeds will settle in where the lawn is weak and
sparse. It’s important to cultivate new shoots to keep your lawn dense, like a carpet! Here are some tips
to follow:

  • Choose a quality seed adapted to the level of sunlight (full sun, part shade, shade). A visit to a nursery is
    recommended for advice and information.
  • Plough and decompact the area to be sown.
  • Spread rich brown soil (1/2 inch)
  • Generously spread a layer of seed on top of the soil)
  • Spread a second layer over the seed (1/2 inch)
  • Gently even out and make sure seed is completely covered
  • Water twice a day to keep the soil moist. Morning and evening are the best times, 10-14 consecutive
    days.
